Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible. I thought it would be terrible, being a portable Zamperla. The ride deffinitely shakes you around, but the track is butter-smooth in its first year. I could see this getting rough, but for now it is just an average ride. It is good to see Parc management give the park some sort of coaster though.

I was pretty excited to try this ride out as it certainly is unique. I wasn&#39.t expecting it to be a first class roller coaster, but I thought it might at least be as good as the Italian Job. This ride was nowhere close and a complete let down (even with a front seat view). Many people seemed to enjoy it, but the track was so short that the ride was over before it started and never really sped up to a speed you would expect from a launch coaster.

No, I congratulate you on building a coaster in an area of the park virtually impossible to find. Well, maybe not impossible but you definitely outsmarted two coaster enthusiasts from Georgia.In all seriousness, we visited Darien Lake after spending a half day at Canada&#39.s Wonderland on our 10 park quest this summer. We encountered some overcast weather and were hoping to ride everything in the park at Darien Lake before the storms hit. We got in everything including 3 laps on Ride of Steel. However, there were no park maps present so we were trying to figure out which way to go and simply could not find the entrance to the Motocoaster. Just as an FYI, it is located up the steps behind the Boomerang. A police officer was posted there for some reason so we thought that area of the park was closed. We went all the way around the lake and made it to another closed gate which they would not let us enter, so we had to go all the way back around the park. It was really confusing but was probably more our fault than anything else. Now after all of that rambling, how was the ride? It was good. The unique motorcycle style trains were comfortable and the ride was fun. The launch is good as are the quick turns. However, the Motocoaster is mainly a family oriented ride and should be rated as such. It is by far the least thrilling of the parks coasters but is also the 2nd best one there I feel due to its smoothness and overall experience. It is a wonderful addition as the park seems to be gearing more for the family type atmosphere which I have no problems with. I thought about an 8 here but will stick with a 7. It is a great ride for what it does but does but that is about it. Just don&#39.t get lost. The lake does not look that big but walking around it three times make it seem HUGE.Overall Score - 7

On my recent trip to Darien Lake, near Buffalo, NY, I was happy to see that the park is thriving post-Six Flags. On a Thursday, we waited about 5 minutes before boarding the &#39.crotch-rocket&#39. like cars. You straddle them just like a real bike. After boarding, a restraint bar slowly rises up until it reaches your back. The bar doesn&#39.t smash you into the bike, it still allows you to sit up, but at the same time won&#39.t allow you to fall out. The ride starts with a quick right hand turn out of the station. Then the train, with 6 rows of two bikes across, creeps to the starting line and then stops. The racing lights switch to green and you&#39.re off.

The train thrusts forward at a fun, but not too intense, 0 to 38 mph in 3 seconds. The launch is generated via a flywheel unlike the LIMs found on most launch coasters. It felt much faster than I expected. Part of that might have been the seating position, I&#39.m not sure. After the launch the train climbs up and into the contained twisted layout. I would&#39.ve preferred a more open layout that would&#39.ve traveled around that section of Darien Lake, like Knott&#39.s Berry Farm&#39.s Pony Express, or just had a larger footprint like the Italian Job coasters, but Darien was probably a little short on space.

The layout was still fun. I found myself through my hands up and then holding on for the tighter turns. The idea of a bike-themed coaster may seem a little gimmicky, but I prefer the seating position over stand-up coasters. Overall, the OCC MotoCoaster is a fun ride with surprising speed, some fun momentary g-forces, and a unique (or at least pretty new) seating position. This is the perfect coaster to re-launch a theme park and hopefully bring the masses back. A new launch coaster for a park this size is a strong addition. Final Rating - 7.5 (Good Approaching Great)
