The Sledgehammer was the unexpected hit of my visit. I had always heard that it was disappointing and looked far better than it actually was, so I went into the ride with tempered expectations that were blown away. The jumps upwards are really fast and intense and deliver nice pops of floater air. While others have criticized the upper segments for being dull and uneventful, I found them comparable to the anticipation before the plunge on a drop tower because when the arms drop back down, there is a nice freefall sensation. Ultimately, there are three yanks upwards during the ride and while I wish the ride were longer, it is still an incredibly unique and enjoyable flat that must be experienced.
Really good flat ride. It's really fun, sweet and this ride is a pretty nice idea. Good for people who don't like agressive sensation !
This is one of the best flat rides in the park. At least on the day I rode it. The ride op was very energetic and had the restraints VERY loose so I got totally ejected when it dropped. I love that suspense at the top, spin, spin, drop!!! The ".mini-drop". on the second round gave me 3 whole seconds of floater, and the ride was always a walk on! Only criticism is that the cycle is way too short. I had to ride it three straight times just to get a full experience.
As many others have said the ride looks impressive, but looks are deceiving. It does provide a couple of intense moments but not nearly enough. It more of a social occasion if you ride with a large group of friends.
Sledge Hammer had amazing potential, but ultimately was my biggest disappointment of the day. Most of the ride was spent slowly spinning around the base, which was quite boring. However, when the arms were yanked upwards and downwards very quickly, it was very good and very thrilling. However, the cycle was way too short (under a minute) and there just wasnt enough excitement.
Looks a whole lot better then it is. Suffers mostly from huge disrepancies in pacing. Half the ride is spent slowly going in circles, then being plunged or yanked at high speeds. The second part of that equation is fun, the first gets old in a hurry. It is worth a try as it is very unique, but it could have been so much cooler.
I think that this is a fun flat for just about everyone. It looks visually impressive, but it isnt too intense. This is the first ride of this type that I have ridden. One bad part is that the ride is a bit of a slow loader.
Sledge Hammer is visually masive and very appealing it has three hydraulic shocks that push you up and down and looks (from the outside) to be an intense thrill ride my last rides on this werent so thrilling but my previous experience was pretty fun the first part where they suddenly pull you up gave amazing positive gs but you feel kind of embarresed screaming on this ride cuz there is always somebody looking straight at you ( its kind of annoying) but overall it looks cool butdoesnt live up to its looks thats 2 points up and 1 point lost i like the restraints and the ride its self is fairly thrilling 4 more points i love the design of the whole ride its very neat and unique another 3 point and 1 point lost being a tad rough now it stands at 7
Looks very impressive, almost awe-inspiring. Gets you nice and pumped while in the line, but unfortunately it fails to deliver anything more than a bland ride. I actually got some headbanging on this, which is something I can usually avoid on flat rides. The positive is that the queue is usually fairly short, and the capacity is decent. Worth a ride, just so you can see that its not nearly as good as it looks.
Nice ride that was alot of fun. It spins around alot and can make you sick to your stomach. Dont ride it if you get motion sickness.
