Greezed Lightnin is a steel sit down roller coaster. It is a shuttle coaster. It was built in 1978. It has 2 inversions. It was built by Schwarzkopf. It is 148' tall, it is 876' long. It is fast, fun, rerideable, it has a large capacity, and it has a long duration.
A relatively smooth, enjoyable shuttle loop that still has some kick despite its age. Being that SFGAm is my home park, this coaster was doubly special as it was not only my first Schwarzkopf shuttle loop but also the same coaster that inhabited by home park for 13 years as Tidal Wave. The second best coaster in the park.
This ride is pretty good even tho its not a very long ride. I didnt expect much so it was far better than I thought it would be. Its a shame KK doesnt have more space for better/bigger rides, but then again they do a pretty poor job of using what space they do have.
This ride surprised me. I was expecting it to be lame, yet it was anything but. The launch isnt too fast, which means its gentle on your neck and head. I love going through loops without OTSRs banging your head and ears. This ride is smooth, yet pleasantly disorienting. The brief floating moment before the gravity pulls the train back for the reverse run is not to be missed. This might be the best thing Kentucky Kingdom has to offer, and its incredibly fun and repeatable.
omg it is so smooth and a great ride. i loved it. but the sound it makes to break it i am surprised that they arnt deaf.
I wasnt expecting much... shoots you forward, through the loop, up the spike, and then backward through the loop. In its day it may have been ground breaking... but now? However I was surprised just how much FUN this was... especially the stomach flip it gave me going backward through the loop.
This was my most surprising ride at SFKK. I was expecting a short, old, and judging from the noise painful experience, but it wasnt. I cant believe how smooth this is becaues the thing was as loud as the airplanes that were flying right above our heads at SFKK. The launch isnt a free face lift like todays LIMs but it was certainly good for a model circa the 1970s. The loop was probably the best loop Ive ever been through. The most surprising aspect was airtime. I liked the second moment better than the first, but they were both good. Overall, I now see what Schwarzkopf is all about and I cant wait to ride some of his full circuit coasters. A 6 is above average and thats a great score for a half minute ride.
This was my first ride at SFKK. I rode it July 2nd, 06 and it was in the high 90s so everyone was swimming so I was able to get two walk-ons. This ride is very fun. My favorite part is going backwards on the loop - sometimes you forget youre going through it again and its surprising. The only bad part is its too short - definitely a reride though.
My fomer, beloved Viper from SFOG, this weight-drop shuttle loop seemed to lose a step in the move. It just didnt have the same takeoff, but you still cant beat a Schwarzkopf loop with anything but a better Schwarzkopf loop. Of course, going through one backwards is simply awesome.
It was nothing special at Six Flags Great America (Tidal Wave), so why should be something at SFKK.
