Pirate ships are cool when they go high; and airtime on anything actually relaxes me and I start to fall asleep on certain rides especially these ones!
Probably the coolest Pirate Ship I'.ve ridden, makes u get more negative g'.s than most others
This review caters to the inner pirate in me. Even though this was my first swinging ship, it still is the best one Ive been on by far. As a child I remember feeling like a pirate as the ship swung high into the air like a ship would during a wretched storm at sea. Even today I still feel like that during my rides and as usual with a Coney Island ride, the op is hugely responsible for my enjoyment of this ride. No other park runs their ship nearly as long as Astrolands ops do because I consistantly get rides around 5 minutes long or so. Not only is the ride insanely long, but the air at the top of each swing is really good thanks to the height the ship reaches. The sensations I experience on this one also are unmatched by any other ship, and even a sailor would get seasick thanks to the cycle run by the ops.
This is the best swinging ship I have been on anywhere. First off is the cycle. The operator just kept on letting the ride continue to run at I got multiple rides that all were longer than 5 minutes, some even close to 7 or 8 minutes! Also, the air-time was unbelievable as I was lifted from my seat with every swing in any seat!
The best pirate ride cycle I have ever seen. The air you get is amazing and the cycle was double what i normally get. It is not much to look at, but in a park this dirty how can you tell. The ride and parks appearance is the only think that keeps this from being a ten.
This ride is so fun and they run it pretty long.I only rode it once.
This was sweet. Took us forever to get into position to get an end seat, and then another forever for all the dang kids to get settled & decide which fool seat they wanted to sit it, but it was worth it. Its not just that its a long cycle, but because its a pirate ship it means the length of the cycle favors the high end of the swing, none of this going up then one or two high swings before coming down. You go to its maximum height, and you stay there. Almost to the point we were starting to get bored. The ride op seemed to be distracted and wanted to chat with other folks more than watch or time the ride, and we got a nice long one. There was so much water on this from folks getting off the log flume before climbing on dripping that I slipped & cut my foot on the edge of the ship, but who cares? We were there for the thrill, the sense of potential danger and between the slip-sliding and distracted ride op we got it.
Your standard rocking ship, but they do give you a fast long ride.
Decent swinging ship, but very poorly maintained.
I know what everyones saying about how they run it a long time, but is it possible that any of the ops are a bit nuts? When I rode everyone was screaming to get off and just as we got back into the station the lap bars closed again and we took off on another thrilling ride. I liked the op--he gave us extra time, but there were no screams of delight on the Pirate Ship.
