Review of Rolling Thunder @ Six Flags Great Adventure

I will begin by saying this ride was by far the worst wooden roller coaster I have ever had the displeasure to experience. The first drop rose my hopes, however, as did the presence of buzz bars. The rest of the ride was horrendous, however. Rolling Thunder consists of a series of brutal hills with no airtime. Loading times were horiffic as well. Basically just a worthless ride. If I was El Toro, Id be insulted that I was built next to such a load of crap

i recently got to ride RT after a ten year hiatus from the ride. before riding it, my opinion was that i would only write a review if it absolutely sucked horrendously. if it turned out to be mediocre, i wouldnt review it. i find that "meh" impressions of rides dont provide fodder for very interesting reviews. turns out i found it to be simply "meh", and not god awful as many suggest. it had no airtime, yes, but its not all that rough as many also suggest. i would put the roughness level about equal to great white or hershey wildcat. however those rides are very thrilling by comparison. frankly, i wish it had been a "2" for me, because then i would have had a lot of fun writing a really pissy review. for example, mean streak is far more offensive to me and deserving of a "3" than RT because it is equally mediocre to ride, but its alluring beauty and promising layout leaves riders very frustrated because it delivers such a boring and uneventful ride. RT looks "meh" and it IS "meh", IMO.

It is "meh", but I think it could have been a very good ride if it was taken care of properly.
