Mediocre at best. (Possible Spoilers included)The main reason I trekked up to Canadas Wonderland was to ride their newest coaster, in addition to experiencing what was supposed to be one of the best flat ride collections around. Well, I came away dissapointed big time regarding the Italian Job.First off, the appearence looks pretty good. I especially liked the three-MINI trains with the hinged doors and all. At PCW, the ride is fairly hidden from the rest of the park, especially the majority of the coasters layout except from the lift of the Minebuster. That helps out, and the immense themeing helps to hide it as well. It had only been a few weeks and already the queue was covered in graffiti. Since it is the new kid on the block, I had to wait a little more than an hour to ride, and the line spilled out of the queue a bit at times during the day, and this wasnt even what I would have thought to have been peak hours. I also encountered a lot of malfunctions that day: the air gates in the queue werent working, so they had to alter loading procedure; the headlights didnt work, which came into play in the tunnel scene (it would have made it cooler); the speakers didnt work. In the end, there were a lot of missing elements that hurt my chances of a great ride, but I tried to look past that. The actual ride is where so many of the points are lost. The launch is ok, fairly tame much like the Mummy (which will inevitably draw comparisons to the Italian Job, I liked the Mummy better) but flat and not nearly as forceful. The upward-spiraling helix was good for a while. The first half of it was fairly tight, intense and disorienting, but it really slowed down and barely crawled over the bunny hop at the top -- and that was with a full train, rollbacks may be possible if it was empty! That really stunk, because if the speed was greater a nice pop of air would have fit well, but alas the hill was a dud. After plunging back towards the ground, the train hit another small hill which did give a nice jolt of negative Gs, but nothing to make the ride stellar. The cops scene was so so, just a few smooth twists in the track, followed by a highly banked turn around, but still nothing spectacular. The helicopter scene was neat, approaching Universal quality, but again, not great. The tunnel portion was ok, but without lighting, something tells me we missed a lot. The ending was picturesque, and the ride finished weakly. The water splash was dull as was that last dip-n-turn. As the train hit the brakes, I couldnt help but be disappointed. In the end, the Italian Job Stunt Track was an ok coaster, but not anywhere near being great. This ride really made me appreciate the Mummys themeing and unique (and working) elements. The IJ:ST is a good fit for Paramount (it was obviosuly popular and well-marketed) but not my type. The ride is lackluster, with the absensce of airtime being unimaginable with those Premier restraints, but its sadly true. Even if everything worked for me, I would only give it a 5 or 6.Thanks for tuning in guys, Ill be back and write more reviews and some TRs, but for now I just saw the ride was open for reviews and that nobody had reviewed it so I wanted to share some comments: Have fun yall
