Nice lift, Big Drop, boring follow through.Worth waiting in line for 1 time. Kinda like an S&S tower if youve done it once, its not that exciting for a re-ride.Love Cedar Point but, Ill wait for Mantis instead.

Big Red, though Mantis is good for its type of coaster, it and Millenium Force arent even in the same ball park. A 3 is horrible especially for such a great ride.

If youve been on both, you can tell which is better.

Im kinda tired of reading these reviews where someone gives it a low rating, and some of yall (cough Red) automatically say that they have never ridden it. What if they like Mantis better? Thats his opinion, and you are lasting him for sharing it because it doesnt agree with your views. Yes, MF is awesome, and to me, better than Mantis, but I thought Mantis was as good as TTD, so are you going to give me a hard time? I cant even count how many times that I have read acusations of a bogus review just because they dont share the opinions that most people have. Dont get me wrong, this review is shady, especially considering he didnt review Mantis, but lets be a little nicer

Good point Bob.

Thank you, I just do not like when people are attcked because they dont follow the flow. So what, I think that the Georgia Scorcher is better than Mantis (somewhat, I dont know, its a close call), and a lot of people would think that I was crazed or something. Some people just like different coasters.

I think that the major issue here is when people try to push their opinions onto others as facts- that is what this is all about

nice point there... now if they give reasons to how they hated a ride that is generally loved, i dont even care, even if it is bogus. So what? were not losing anything, because theyre just idiots who have nothing better to do.
Wow, you lose the rating of the ride... no biggy. Just as long as YOU make the best out of your reviews, then it shouldnt be a problem. At least thats my opinion on this whole review dilemma.

Chet, great point. Its true, its only a non-scientific numerical rating, and what is in our hearts and brains counts.

Well, I must say that I totally agree with both of you (Chet and Bob). There is no reason whatsoever that someone should be accused of not riding a ride just because their rating doesnt agree with the "standard" that other critics have created. One of the best things about this site, in my view, is the fact that people can express their opinions, varied as they may be, on different coasters and rides. The variety of reviews a ride gets is what keeps this site interesting and enjoyable. I just want to point out one thing, and believe me when I say that Im not trying to be a jerk or cause a big argument here. In this instance, as Bob pointed out, the reviewer was accused of not riding MF after giving it a low rating. Well, I should think the same kind of philosophy should apply if someone gives a high rating that doesnt agree with someone elses opinion. The only reason I bring this up is that it seems like Bob tends to be quick to go after people who rate TTD a 10, and in particular rate it above MF. Bob, I for one thoroughly enjoyed your review of TTD, and I thought it was very well done. But Ive also seen the comments where you cant see how anyone could possibly rate TTD higher. In fact, in reviews right after yours for TTD (10s where the ride was that reviewers #1), you posted comments right away wanting them to give further info. In one, you do the same thing as the people in this review here did, you ask if the guy even rode it! Look, all Im saying is we should be consistant. The same criteria of "reviewer respect" should apply to people who review high, low, or in the middle. I mean theres nothing wrong with wanting more info or whatever from a reviewer, but the attacks because of a review being one way or another is what I think is wrong. Like I said though, Bob, please dont think of this as a personal attack at you.....I think youre one of the really good members of this site! I guess I just wish, like you, that people would just "be a little nicer" Those are just my thoughts, anyway.

You are right pretty much, but I do have to point some things out. I do say "how could anyone rate TTD higher than MF" a lot, but I know and realize that the general consensus is that TTD is a more popular ride. However, I believe that I only commented on two of the recent TTD reviews, and I basically did so because both of the reviews were just a few words, and to me, if this is your favorite coaster and "the best on the planet", then oyu can say more than 10 words. I gave Gamling the respect that he deserves when I realized that he had posted a more detailed review elsewhere (as a matter of a fact, I went back and changed the Bad that I had given him back to the middle), and I commented on a claim in another review who said that the ride hurts to much, and I agreed with that same reviewer who siad that CP moved trains in and out quite well. I have no problem with any rating, so long as its backed up to a measurable extent (highs and lows both).
