Universal Orlando Cutting Costs
Submitted By: ThmPrkCrtc on 2/5/2009 9:25:00 AM
I'd heard some grumblings from friends that Universal and Disney are hurting over in Orlando. I don't think these are cuts as much as adjustments to the crowd size over at the parks.
Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said Wednesday the 3 1/2 -year-old Fear Factor attraction in Universal Studios will close today. The resort plans to reopen the attraction, which is based on the former gross-out reality show on NBC, during the spring, though a date has not been set.

Schroder also said hours for a "limited number" of shows and attractions at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure will be reduced beginning this weekend. He declined to identify which attractions will be affected but said the resort expects the changes will be "invisible" to most guests, because the reductions will be determined by attendance.
I guess it's not to surprising given the current economy, and honestly Fear Factor may have run it's lifespan anyways.

This is the problem of adding attractions built on TV fads. especially when you come in late in the game. The show ends you loose the major appeal for the attraction. They should remove the theater and plan 1-3 attractions in it's place. No big loss.

These attrctions are awelsome and amizing attrictions too. Its worth every cent or penny. It will more awelsome if they cut park admission price down.
