Hard Rock Park Done
Submitted By: ThmPrkCrtc on 1/7/2009 9:16:00 AM
Looks like it's over for the Hard Rock Park:
Yesterday, a Delaware bankruptcy judge approved the company's request to begin liquidating what was billed as the world's first rock 'n' roll theme park and the single-largest tourism investment in South Carolina history.

Hard Rock Park's hard-knock life serves as one of the most colorful examples of lax corporate lending standards during the decade's lending boom. In the case of Hard Rock Park, private-equity investors put up about $75 million and raised another roughly $320 million in debt to fund their vision.
I tried to come up with a witty goodbye hard rock song to mock them with, but all that came up was Love in an Elevator, going down down down.. but it just didn't make a whole bunch of sense.

They screwed up on their advertising. Just go out and ask people "Did you hear what happened to the Hard Rock Theme Park?" and they will probably have no idea what you are talking about.

Yea.. I've read that alot in various articles, be interesting to see if someone finds a way to salvage it and make it into something that can drive an actual profit.

I just hope the coasters will be saved, especially Led Zeppelin.

well see. They might sell of a few things and try and sell the park and a few rides as a package deal. The advertising was one of many problems. spending way too much on park in Myrtle Beach was the biggest one.

Well that was fast. Didn't the park just open within the last few years?
