I just found out, that Kennywood'..s The Phantom'..s Revenge is getting re-tracked for the 2009 operating season. The new track, is arriving at Kennywood,as they had to wait until after Phantom Fright Nights were over at the park,in order to install the new track. From what I understand, the first and second drops, are getting
re-tracked. As for the rest of the coaster, I'..m not sure if those sections, are getting new track installed or not.

Wow. I didn'.t even know steel coasters got this sort of treatment. I'.m assuming they just replace whole sections of tubular steel track, right, rather than just the surface? I'.m also hoping this ".retracking". is not a reprofiling, as PR is by far my favorite steel coaster.

I heard this over on Screamscape actually. They'.re replacing the original Arrow track sections.

Yea will probably smooth that part up a bit....not sure how I feel. I like smoothness, but the shakey first drop gave Phatoms a sort of edge not many great steel coasters have.

Like Horizons pointed out they are replacing the original Arrow tract form the drop and second hill. like the changeover from a looping coaster to a traditional hyper Morgan is the manufacturer of the new track pieces.

There is also talk about the transition to the second hill being smoothed out a little so the straight away will be slightly shorter.
