I used to think that if there was one coaster I would love to have ridden or at the very least see faithfully rebuilt it was the CB Cylcone. But after watching this, I don'.t think so. And if I had to choose between this and Fred Church'.s other most-praised ride, the Aeroplane, I think the Bobs just looks too outstanding.

Great find!

I had always heard how incredible this thing had looked but never actually saw what it looked like. That looks really intense. Just imagine how much airtime it had.

Damn, great find. That did look really good. Now *that* is how a twister should be done. Lots of nice drops and spots of gut-wrenching airtime.

Video or film can really be deceptive as far as how intense a ride truely is (The Dragon Coaster looks positively insane in ".Fatal Attraction".) but what I find most exciting about this POV is how, in classic Church fashion, the hills crest flat and then suddenly dive into the next drop. The illusion of flying off the track is really evident about half-way through the ride. No matter how many times I watch this, I can not help but wonder what a ride on this coaster must have been like.
If you look closely, you can see that the track is designed for flanged wheels (no side friction wheels here.)
Wow.

It'.s safe to say that the Bobs had a good measure of intensity. It was reportedly a very popular ride in a park that was loaded with coasters. Also, these were the days before CAD and parabolic hills, both of which usually made for a more intense ride.

I would like formally to retract all the nasty and dismissive things I'..ve written about youtube on this site. Between cool old coaster videos, classic film clips, Steve Martin and Richard Pryor performances, and stop-motion Lego renderings of Star Wars, Transformers, and the sinking of the Titanic, I'..m hooked.
