I rarely start threads, but seeing as we have slowed down again I thought I would try. What park, or parks if you wish to do more then one, has the best 1-2 coaster combo.

For me:

1. BGE: Apollo's Chariot, Alpengeist

2. BGT: Sheikra, Montu

3. Hershey: Lightning Racer, Storm Runner

4. SFGAM: Raging Bull, Viper

5. Alton Towers: Nemesis, Oblivion

I definitely agree with BGE, and, being a fanboy, I feel compelled to mention IOA (Dragons and Hulk). Also, MF and Magnum, although I might get made fun of for that.

IOA was close for me along with MF and Raptor, but Magnum has just not been fun on my last several visits.

Thunder Mountain & Matterhorn!

By combo, I think of 2 good coasters that are conveniently close together, but not necesarily the best in the park.

What comes to mind is Storm Runner/Sidewinder, Talon/Hydra, Invertigo/Demon, Riddler/Goldrusher, Superman/GASM, Chang/T2, Wildcat/Iron Dragon or Mantis/Millenium, Kong/Medusa, and Top Gun/(late)King Kobra.

here are mine:
SFOG Mind Bender and Batman. I'm sure Goliath would be in there but I haven't been on it yet.
SFGAdv Medusa and Nitro

With the options presented I'd go with Hershey. However, if I was to nominate another pair I would say El Toro/Nitro

That is my pick.

Its the only pair that are both in my top 5 wood and steel. I have 2 steel from Georgia in my top 5, but I like wood too so I go with GAdv's top two.

like danny and RCG, i'll go with that one. they are similar in that they are great re-profiles of older coasters and they are both totally singular in their respective genres. one can go to kennywood and experience this fine combo as each offers some of the finer points of two very different eras of design.

From what I hear you got a good 1,2 Combo with Dueling dragons alone.

Let me just throw a few out here:

1) Montu and SheiKra
2)Apollo's Chariot and Griffon (once it opens, but I didn't think that Alpengeist was a good enough invert to pair with Apollo's Chariot)
3)El Toro and Nitro
4)Hulk and Dueling Dragons

...and although it's not entirely a coaster combo, I have to say Tower of Terror and Rock'n Roller Coaster pretty much make the Disney-MGM Studios what it is.

I'm praying that a good combo will be Thunderhead and Mystery Mine.

Anyway I'll agree to Beast and Vortex.

From the research i've done, Mystery Mine will end up being a pretty awsome ride. The special effects companies that are hired by Universal have been working on MM. Also, from what I've seen and heard about Speed: No Limits at Oakwood, the actuall ride itself should be great.

I already know that Thunderhead is a fanomanal ride, but until April, it will have to stand alone.

I want to do some more!(great topic, BTW) :

-Giant Dipper/Hurricane
-Raptor/Blue Streak
-Mean Streak/Maveric
-CCMR/Maveric
-Mean Streak/CCMR
-Corkscrew/TTD
-Gemini/JrGemini
-Dispach Master Transport/Wicked Twister

Just about every coaster at CP has a credible other. You all can be the judge on the best pair.

-Blazing Fury/Tennessee Tornado
-Comet/SDL
-Wildcat/Lightning Racer
-DD's/Flying Unicorn

I may be getting off of "Parks best pair, but honestly, I think that every park with 2+ coasters makes good pairs. SFMM, for example has 15 coasters, 14 of which coull be easily paired with an other.

I don't think so. Just having two coasters doesn't make a good pair. I mean Mean Streak and Maverick? That's not a solid coaster pair. MF and Maverick might be a little bit more substantial.

Which park has the best coaster combo, as in two coasters that really draw people into the park and can stand alone as great coasters. Not every coaster at CP is great, not even close. I mean seriously, Dueling Dragons and Flying Unicorn? You're simply picking two coasters at a park and putting them together and saying it's on of the best coaster combos.

How can you even pick Maveric. No one has rode this ride. Also CP does have some nice coaster but you can't count them all. That is just lame.

Well I'm sure Maverick is going to be a great coaster, but lets be real here.... Mean Streak and CCMR? I mean really, it seems as if you put a lot of thought into your post.

...I think that the best coaster combo has to be at SFOG: Goliath and Wile E. Coyote Canyon Blaster. I mean sure, there are other B&M's out there, but I don't think ANY park is complete unless they have a Chance family coaster. That is by far the biggest double threat in the industry right now...

Have any of you actually riden the FLying Unicorn? It's totally a good ride, especially for a kiddie coaster. Plus, they look good togather.

The CP statment was going a bit overboard. Still, I think that almost all CP coasters are quite good.

Yes I've ridden the Flying Unicorn (haha, and Canyon Blaster for that matter). It's not really much different from any other Vekoma family coaster (...and Dueling Dragons is different from any other B&M invert fyi)
